Following the rumor a few weeks ago, Sony has announced that the PlayStation 5 will be the first console to offer an ‘integrated Apple Music experience’, allowing subscribers to access their audio and video libraries through the system of the console itself. .
The announcement was made through an official Sony post on PlayStation, revealing that the service is now available. To enable it, simply download the Apple Music app from the console and follow the steps to sign in.
The operation is practically the same as with Spotify, which is available since the console came out, and has an exclusive button on the PS5’s Media Remote.
Users can access the Apple Music app from the PS5 home and play content directly, or press the PS button on the DualSense while playing games.
According to the post, this method will work with both music and videos. You can play the clips in 4K in full screen and if you want, go back to the game or whatever you were doing, and the video’s audio will continue to play.
The integration even has streaming music service recommendations based on what you’re playing at the moment.
The usefulness that a console can play music directly is not limited to being able to listen to it while you play. For many, this means that they will not have to connect an extra device to their home theater to play music or watch videos.
