After the fall of Facebook services on Monday, October 4, Instagram announced the implementation of new tools that will allow its users to know when a temporary problem occurs in the application and to know the status of their accounts.
The popular social network expressed its concern about the confusion caused in its users when its services go through technical problems affecting the interaction and distribution of content.
To solve the lack of information, the application decided to test a new function that will send a notification when technical interruptions of the services are registered and also when these problems are solved.
Instagram clarified that they will not send an alert every time an error occurs, but that the objective of the tool is to clarify the situation when they notice that their users report concerns and seek answers.
At the moment, this update will be tested only in the United States over the next few months. If the results are positive, the company confirmed on its official blog that they will implement the function globally.
In order to efficiently attend to the large number of requests from users who demand more information about the content they reported or if their publications violate community regulations, the application also decided to enable the “Account statement” tool.
This new function will provide information to users about what happens with their accounts, the distribution of content and if they are at risk of being disabled from the application.
From this section, you can also appeal Instagram decisions through the option “Request a review.”
Instagram added that in the coming months they plan to add more information to this tool, so that people are clear about how their content is distributed and recommended.
