The Regional Ministerial Health Secretariat reported eleven new cases of SARS-CoV-2 and the death of an older adult.

The Los Ríos Laboratory Network processed 404 samples in the last 24 hours, yielding a daily rate of positivity of 1.7%.

Of the 11 cases confirmed by residence in Los Ríos correspond to 3 secondary cases, 3 under investigation and 5 are without traceability. Of the new infections, 8 correspond to female persons and 3 male persons, with an age range between 8 and 61 years.

During this Wednesday, Valdivia had five new cases of COVID-19, La Unión 2, Paillaco 2, Mariquina 1 and Río Bueno 1. The other seven communes of Los Ríos did not register daily infections.

In this way, Valdivia maintains 33 active cases of Coronavirus, Los Lagos 16, Río Bueno 8, La Unión 5, Paillaco 3, Panguipulli 3, Mariquina 2, Futrono 1 and Lanco 1. While Corral, Lago Ranco and Máfil did not present active cases.

The Health Authority reported this Wednesday, the death of an 83-year-old female from the Panguipulli commune.

Meanwhile, to date, The region has 49,868 accumulated cases, of which 72 correspond to active cases, 49,136 to recovered persons and 660 to deceased.

Regarding hospitalizations, 10 patients remain hospitalized in different healthcare facilities in the region, of which 2 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and none are connected to mechanical ventilation. Of the patients who are in the ICU, 2 of them do not have their complete vaccination schedule.

Regarding Health Residences, to date, 44 people are making use of this seclusion space, which represents a percentage of 45% of occupied beds. As of today, there are 66 beds available.
