The plane had taken off from the Mojave airfield in California (USA), and when it reached an altitude of approximately 10,000 meters, it launched the rocket with the satellites on board.

The Virgin Orbit company launched seven small satellites into orbit on Thursday using one of its LauncherOne carrier rockets, in what represents the third successful mission of that company that is part of the Virgin Group.

Four of these satellites belong to the US Department of Defense, two to the Polish company SatRevolution and one to the US Spire Global. Virgin Orbit’s approach to getting satellites into space differs from traditional methods. Instead of taking off vertically from a ground platform, LauncherOne launches from several kilometers above the wing of a modified Boeing 747.

The Boeing had taken off from the Mojave airfield in California (USA), and when it reached an altitude of approximately 10,000 meters, it launched the rocket, which then turned on its propellers and headed towards Earth’s orbit.
