On the fifth anniversary of the death of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, the Russian Chancellor, Serguei Lavrov, highlighted the contribution of the Commander in Chief to the relations between Cuba and Russia.
Through the social network Twitter, the Ministry of Foreign Relations of Cuba reported that Lavrov’s message came out during a meeting with Cuban Vice Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas, on a working visit to that Eurasian nation.
“Fraternal meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas and Foreign Minister Serguei Lavrov, who affectionately recalled the important contribution of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz to Cuban-Russian relations, on the eve of the fifth anniversary of his physical departure,” the director wrote. General of Bilateral Affairs of the Foreign Ministry, Emilio Lozada.
These days Cabrisas is making a working visit to Russia, with the aim of evaluating the progress of the bilateral agreements.
This Tuesday, he held meetings with Alexander Chupriyan, interim minister of Civil Defense, Emergency and Elimination of the consequences of Natural Disasters; with Vadim Sorokin, President of the GAZ Group; and with Sergey I. Kudryashov, Managing Director of Zarubezhneft JSC.
Cabrisas thanked the donations of food and medical supplies sent by Russia to Cuba to help confront the pandemic, and highlighted the relations of brotherhood and solidarity that unite the two peoples and governments.
Likewise, both parties ratified their willingness to continue developing bilateral ties, with emphasis on the economic, commercial, financial and cooperation spheres.
