Havana, Nov 24 (EFE) .- Cuban health authorities confirmed this Wednesday another decrease in daily cases of covid-19, with 182 in the previous 24 hours, and only one died from complications associated with the disease.

The country accumulates, counting these new cases, a total of 961,458 infected and 8,299 deaths since the first positive for SARS-Cov-2, notified in March of last year, reported the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) in its daily report.

The number of people currently admitted is 4,344, of which 26 remain in serious condition and 10 are in critical condition.

The central-eastern region of the country concentrated the highest number of cases, distributed between Camagüey (48 new positives), Holguín (38) and Villa Clara (21).

About 9 million people, of the 11.2 million that inhabit the country, have completed the three-dose schedule of the Cuban vaccines against the coronavirus Abdala, Soberana 02 and Soberana Plus.

Cuba did not buy vaccines in the international market nor did it integrate the Covax mechanism of the World Health Organization to access international formulas against covid-19.

NOTE TO SUBSCRIBERS: The decisions of the Cuban authorities in recent months have decimated the team of the Efe delegation in Havana, where currently only two journalists can continue to carry out their work. Efe hopes to be able to recover its information capacity on the island in the coming days.
