The woman who suffered burns after an explosion in Las Piedras remains in a condition of care

Janine Goldthrope, the woman who suffered burns yesterday, Friday, after an explosion at her residence in The stones, remain this Saturday in a condition of care, in the Stabilizing Unit of the Puerto Rico Medical Services Administration.

Yesterday, the director of the emergency room, Charlie Gómez, said in an interview with Telenoticias that the woman suffered burns on 80% of her body, after being transferred from the scene in the Mansiones de los Artesanos urbanization to the Medical Center.

In an interview with The new dayYesterday, Seda’s sister, Gisel Vázquez, said that Goldthorpe’s family was taking steps related to the requirements for COVID-19 to get to Puerto Rico from England. He described his sister-in-law as a woman “with a beautiful heart, dynamic, helpful, very sweet, hard-working, intelligent.”

The events shook that community in Las Piedras, where houses up to two blocks away were damaged by the explosion. The outbreak was felt in towns like Juncos, San Lorenzo and Yabucoa.

Authorities expected to demolish the remains of Seda and Goldthorpe’s residence today after structural engineers determined it poses a risk of collapse.
