ARM announced this week that its new top-of-the-line graphics, which will arrive sometime next year, will be 30 percent faster than Mali-G710 graphics, the current top-of-the-range generation of the company.

In addition to being more powerful, it is indicated that it will be more energy efficient in Machine Learning tasks and that its FP32 ML performance will be 4.7 times higher than that of Mali-G76 graphics. Importantly, the current Mali-G710 GPU assumed a 35% jump in computing power compared to its predecessor (Mali-G78) and a 20% in graphics performance for gaming.

If the math does not fail, since ARM has not come to reveal the specific performance of the Mali-G710 graphics, we would say that the future “Mali-G720” would have FP32 performance that could reach around 3.5 TFLOPs, that is to say, just behind in graphics performance compared to a PlayStation 4 Pro (4.2 TFLOPs), with the exception that this mobile graphics chip is already prepared for RayTracing and its energy consumption will be much lower.
