Colombian detained in Jamaica implicated in the assassination of the Haitian president

Colombian Mario Palacios, an alleged member of the command accused of assassinating Haitian President Jovenel Moise, was arrested in Jamaica, the island’s media reported on Thursday, citing police sources.

The Jamaican press reports through its internet editions that Palacios entered the Caribbean island incognito.

The Colombian was arrested in a parish – the island’s administrative division – in central Jamaica earlier this month, the newspaper details. The Gleaner, one of the main media in the Caribbean territory, which cites senior officials of the local security forces as a source.

“We don’t know how it got here,” an official source who did not want to be identified, said briefly. The Gleaner.
