After meeting with the Vice Prime Minister of Cuba, Ricardo Cabrisas, the Vice President of Nicolás Maduro, Delcy Rodríguez, reported this October 21 that girls and boys from Venezuela, with ages from 2 to 12 years, will be immunized with the vaccine candidate Soberana, made on the Antillean island.

According to the Chavista government official, in the coming days the country will receive 12 million doses of this drug, not yet certified by the World Health Organization or the Pan American Health Organization, with which the national child population will be inoculated. The 2021-2022 school year will begin next week in person.

“All these vaccines are incorporated into the Immunization Plan that, thanks to the concern of the president, Nicolás Maduro, for the health and life of our people is guaranteeing protection against a terrible pandemic, the worst that humanity has known”, he asserted.

Rodríguez assured that the immunization process against the coronavirus has already exceeded the 50% milestone in Venezuela and “we hope by the end of the year, to be over 90% of vaccination,” he said.

For his part, Cabrisas explained in a broadcast on VTV that the two governments reviewed bilateral relations and solidarity, so “the first doses of our vaccines have already arrived in the country as they are known and it has been an effort of our scientists and researchers with palpable results ”.

In addition, he stressed that in the coming months more vaccines will be delivered to Venezuela and thanked the Government of Maduro for the supply of oxygen and other items to combat COVID-19 in Cuba.
