FIFA President assured that Chile is optimal to “host” a World Cup

During the afternoon of this Sunday, the president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino surprised Chilean soccer fans after revealing during his visit that he considers that our country could host a World Cup.

The world soccer authority arrived in Chile during the night of this Saturday, received by the president of the ANFP, Pablo Milad, who took him this afternoon to visit the Quilín sports complex, Juan Pinto Durán, kicking off the youth soccer under 21.

Through a press conference, Infantino promoted the idea that the World Cups should be held every two years and not every four as is currently the case, revealing that Chile would be a good option for these events.

“If it can host a World Cup, it has to have the mission to do so,” he told the press, highlighting the level of the country’s footballers.

“Chile is a soccer country, with a high level and great exponents throughout its history in the world. The cry ‘Chi, chi, chi, le, le, le, viva Chile’ is something that is known throughout the world, “said Ginanni Infantino, revealing that the idea of these World Cups would materialize, but in conjunction with other countries.

“It will be very difficult for a single country to organize everything (…) There are three million tourists, million tickets, there are 16 or 18 first-level stadiums, hotels, airports and it is not correct to ask a single country to have all this available of football ”, said the president of FIFA.

“It is clear that with more World Cups, more countries can organize it, it is a matter of simple mathematics, but it is not only that, it is soccer development policy,” added Infantino, revealing that he hopes that the teams that participate in the future worldwide increase from about 32 to 48.
