Chile reports 1,223 new infections of COVID-19 this Thursday

Meanwhile, 5,8080 patients are in the active stage of the virus, that is, in the contagious period of the disease.

The Ministry of Health (Minsal) delivered, during the morning of this Thursday, a new balance of COVID-19. Their report confirmed 1,223 new cases, adding 1,665,916 since the start of the pandemic.

Of the new cases, 831 correspond to people who developed symptoms and 233 are asymptomatic.

While, 5,808 patients are in the active stage of the virus, that is, in the contagious period of the disease.

The Department of Health Statistics and Information (DEIS) confirmed the death of 5 patients, so the death toll increased to 37,583.

On the other hand, it was reported that there 380 patients are admitted to the country’s Intensive Care Units (ICU), of which 280 are connected to invasive mechanical ventilation.

In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there is a total of 309 critical beds available. Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 39,772 PCR tests, reaching to date a total of 21,588,468 analyzed at the national level.

As to positivity for the last 24 hours, at the country level it is 2.42% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 3%.
