The Minister of Health, Hernando Cevallos, announced that the curfew will begin from 2 in the morning until 4 in the morning, in order to extend the hours of attention to the public of the businesses that operate until late at night.
In a press conference, the minister pointed out that with this measure he responds to the fact that the country is at a moderate risk level of the COVID-19. However, he specified that the mobility restriction will not be lifted yet.
“We want to avoid what has happened to us before with some COVID-19 parties and maintain some degree of restriction, appeal of course to the social responsibility of young people,” he said.
Measure seeks to benefit businesses
Cevallos said that with this easing of the curfew, businesses will be able to operate more hours. In addition, your workers will be able to travel to their homes without having transportation problems.
“There is going to be a longer period of time so that these businesses can function, these activities, such as restaurants, other activities that work at night so that they can work a little better,” he said.
Until October 17, all the country’s provinces are classified at the moderate alert level against COVID-19, according to supreme decree 159-2021-PCM that was issued in early October.
