The new curfew schedule will begin at 2:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 a.m. in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Minister of Health, Hernando Cevallos, announced this Wednesday.
He added that the new schedule of social immobilization will be made official through a Supreme Decree.
The minister said that the curfew measure will not be fully lifted to avoid the realization of the so-called COVID parties.
“We want to maintain some degree of restriction and appeal of course to the social responsibility of young people”, Cevallos said at a press conference after the Council of Ministers session.
It should be remembered that on October 2, the Government ordered that the curfew (compulsory social immobilization) in Lima and Callao continue to begin at 1:00 am and end at 4:00 am that same day.
Cevallos emphasized that the curfew makes it easier for people who work in businesses or activities related to restaurants to move home.
He explained that the new measure -of the beginning at 2:00 am- is adopted before the advance of the vaccination against COVID-19 and the figures of the pandemic, since the level of risk that exists in the country is moderate.
