Mexico.- The governments of Mexico and United States have decided to apply the “Code Black“against the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), considered the second most powerful criminal group in the country.
The CJNG, led by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, “El Mencho “, is in the crosshairs of both governments for considering it an extremely violent criminal organization, a threat to the Mexican State due to its ability to traffic drugs, assassinate, kidnap and steal fuel.
Presidents Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) and Joe Biden they discussed how they could confront the CJNG, whose presence is strong in both Mexico and the United States.
For this reason, the AMO government proposed to apply the “Black Code” in order to dismantle the “El Mencho” cartel, whose operating centers are located mainly in Guadalajara, Jalisco, and Bahía de Bandera, Nayarit.
What is the Black Code?
Elements of the National Guard, Army and Navy, with the support of the US government, will carry out the Black Code strategy between October and November to dismantle the criminal group and capture its leader.
The CJNG is among the five most violent and dangerous criminal groups in the world, according to the DEA list, and the second most powerful in Mexico, behind the Sinaloa Cartel.

This is not the first time that the Mexican government has acted against the “El Mencho” cartel. On June 2 of last year, the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) implemented the Agave Azul operation, with which it froze the accounts of 1,770 individuals, 167 companies and two trusts linked to the CJNG, at the request of the USA.
