Chinese culture continues to spread in the video game world. Soon we will be able to immerse ourselves in their folklore thanks to Black Myth: Wukong of the Game Science study, but studies continue to appear that invite us to delve into its most classic history: this is the case of the recently announced Souls-type game Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, from the Leenzee Games team, who carry players back to the later years of the Ming dynasty. It is announced for PC and consoles, with its developers targeting 2024 for its debut in Spain and around the world. We have been able to enjoy an extensive gameplay this week:
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, a Souls in imperial china
“Set in the chaotic final years of the Ming dynasty, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is an exploration of the hauntingly beautiful landscapes of Imperial China and the battle against mysterious forces that transform a sinister reality in supernatural horror“, the developers point out in the description of the video. In this way, the history of China walks hand in hand with elements of fantasy to compose this adventure.
The title is presented as an action role-playing game in the style of Souls, which means that its proposal seeks to be as challenging as the FromSoftware games. We will have to approach the fighting from a more strategic perspective, deliberate, with great bosses and encounters that will test our skills. In this way, we can expect a kind of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice but set in an imperial China.
A Souls that mixes Chinese history with supernatural elements
Thanks to the trailer that we have left on these lines, about 18 minutes long, we can take a look at the scenarios, supernatural enemies and boss fights that we will find in this title. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers comes to offer a Souls with all its ingredients, so this title will probably already attract the attention of fans who are looking for similar and challenging experiences. At the moment, its release has been announced for PC and consoles that have not been specified; but, considering that it will debut around the year 2024, it is expected that it will arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X / S.
