Emblematic places and monuments of the world will be illuminated on July 28 with the colors of the Peruvian flag (red and white) for the 200 years since the proclamation of the Independence of our country.
According to the agency Andina Based on information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Niagara Falls, one of the most famous in the world and located on the border of United States Y Canada, will be illuminated with our national colors in a show that will last about 15 minutes. The event will be at 10 pm (9:00 pm Peruvian time) and can be seen through the Niagara Falls Live Cams portal.
In Canada, the renowned CN Tower (Toronto) will be colored red and white from 08:44 pm (07:44 pm Peruvian time). In addition, the Peruvian authorities have coordinated to cover the Puerta de la Ciudadela de Montevideo with the colors of our flag (Uruguay), the Monuments of Mexico City, the Senate and the Federation of Sao Paulo Industries (Brazil).
Our compatriots who are in countries of Africa, Asia and Europe will be able to observe the lighting of the Palace of Congress of Valencia and the City of Arts and Sciences (Spain), the National Carrillon in Canberra (Australia) and the Kiala Lumpur Tower (Malaysia).
Even the Foreign Ministry also plans to dress the Baiyoke Tower in red and white (Thailand), the Michael Fowler Center in Wellington (New Zealand), el Empire State Building (United States), among others.
The Peruvian authorities carry out these “efforts” to promote the national culture in tourist places of the world in the midst of the celebration for the 200 years of the proclamation of Independence. They are even part of the International Bicentennial Agenda.
The Foreign Ministry also reported that as part of the Bicentennial celebrations, the National Carrillon building was illuminated with the colors red and white, where the organization was carried out by the Peruvian embassy in Australia.
Among other events, the inauguration of the virtual exhibition “The art of modern Peru: a perspective from the permanent collection of the AMA” stood out. It is organized by the Art Museum of the Americas and the Mission of the Peru before the Organization of American States (OAS). Finally, the staging of the “Kaypi Peru 2021” festival, organized by the Peruvian embassy in the United States, was announced.
